Bridge For
Turnkey Projects
|
|
At Bridge we pride ourselves on the ability to offer the complete project
development service. We often work with our customers from the very initial
concepts, right through to handing over the keys to a fully-equipped
greenhouse. This
sort of operation requires careful planning and close liaising with growers
to establish their exact requirements; qualities that Bridge Greenhouses
have been developing for 20 years. |

Nursery Layout & Design
|
|
Whether its a green-field site, or a fully fledged nursery that we have to
work with, Bridge not only have to consider the positioning of the
glasshouse, but also the access roads, water storage facilities,
inbound/outbound logistics and any office buildings that maybe required.
These decisions will effect the smooth running and efficiency of the
nursery for many years to come, so must not be taken lightly. With modern
CAD facilities, and experience on our side, Bridge are here to help make
those decisions easier.

Planning Applications & Building

Once the layout and design of the glasshouse has been established,
planning must be obtained before things can progress any further. Bridge
will produce the drawings, obtain and fill out the necessary forms. These
days with flooding so prevalent, we are often required to account for the
substantial amount of run-off water from the glasshouses' providing all
the necessary calculations, and water storage plans to the relevant
planning departments.

Ground-Works
|
|
It is often said that getting out of the ground is the most difficult part
of building a glasshouse. Good site levelling and preparation, are key to
making this aspect of the build go as smoothly as possible. Of course
preparing the site, and installing the glasshouse foundations are only the
beginning; concrete pathways, working areas, loading docks, access roads,
car parks.....we can do it all!

Irrigation
Systems
|
|
Hand-watering, spray-lines, booms, misting, fogging; Bridge will help
decide which irrigation system is best suited, then organise the
complete installation of the system(s). Collecting and using roof water is
environmental common sense. This water is
usually passed through a bio-filter to prevent pests pathogens and disease
being spread onto the crop. This is something we can offer as part of the
whole irrigation package.

Environmental Control
|
|
A modern glasshouse cannot compete in today's tough markets, without being
super efficient in terms of maximising yield and minimising energy
consumption. These ways of increasing profitability can only be
realistically achieved by using a state of the art environmental control
computer. Bridge are accustomed to managing the computer installation, and
ensuring that all the nursery equipment is compatible and effectively
integrated.

Electrical
Wiring
|
|
This is the natural tying in of all of the items installed in a glasshouse
project. Switching for all systems is brought back to a central panel,
where the grower can simply chose between 'automatic', 'on' or 'off',
giving easy access to ultimate control.

Offices
|
|
It is often more economical to build the nursery offices inside the main
glasshouse structure. For this, Bridge will liaise with the architect and
grower, to achieve the most efficient and practical layout. Once the
detailed design has been made, Bridge can implement and manage all of the
trades, to any level of completion, from a bare shell to a fitted out
building ready for the furniture!

Reservoirs
|
|
Nowadays
reservoirs form an important, and very necessary part of the nursery's
existence. With most new developments a condition of planning permission
will be the provision of an adequate rainwater storm buffer. At Bridge we have
designed numerous reservoirs, of all shapes and sizes, to fit into the
site where possible, without wasting precious growing space.
