Static & Sideways Rolling Benching
Best suited for a labour intensive crop, which requires work in situ. The benches raise the crop off the floor, allowing easier access. The main disadvantage of static benching is the space used in the access pathways. Sideways rolling benches are used to overcome this problem where, as in most cases space saving is critical. This type of bench can be fitted with a number of different bases to suit the growers irrigation/ventilation requirements – e.g. ebb and flood liners, or a mesh base.
