Turnkey glasshouse installation – Horniman museum and gardens
Project by Bridge Greenhouses
A turnkey glasshouse was delivered and installed at the Horniman Museum site, a renowned cultural and heritage destination in Forest Hill, London.
Drawing on extensive experience designing and delivering controlled horticultural environments for botanical collections, educational institutions and specialist growing applications, Bridge Greenhouses were the ideal partner for this project.
The Challenge
The Horniman Museum required a modern, highly efficient glasshouse facility capable of supporting a range of horticultural activities while integrating seamlessly within the museum’s existing site.
As well as controlled plant cultivation, the structure also needed to accommodate the practical needs of staff working within the space.
The design therefore had to incorporate dedicated growing and potting areas, welfare facilities, storage space and an external covered working area, all within a compact footprint.
The Solution
Working closely with the museum team throughout the design and delivery process, Bridge Greenhouses provided a fully integrated turnkey solution tailored to the site’s operational needs.
The new 195 m² freestanding Venlo glasshouse was designed to provide a practical and efficient working environment. The structure was divided into 2 dedicated growing areas, plant room, potting area, toilet facilities, storage space and an external canopy area.
