CABI – Research Glasshouse and Laboratory Building

Project by Bridge Greenhouses

CABI is a global non-profit organization specializing in agricultural science and environmental research. Initially, CABI approached Bridge Greenhouses to refurbish an old glasshouse for use alongside a planned new laboratory building. However, after careful evaluation, it became clear that refurbishment was not viable. Bridge Greenhouses proposed a new integrated facility that combined both the laboratory and a state-of-the-art glasshouse, successfully bringing the project within CABI’s budget.

The completed facility offers CABI five fully climate-controlled growing compartments, as well as multiple laboratory spaces, including a dedicated culture collection storage area and a secure, climate-controlled cryogenic storage room for liquid nitrogen freezers.

Given the specialized research requirements, Bridge Greenhouses was the ideal partner to deliver a secure, environmentally controlled space suitable for advanced research and experimentation.
