Doncaster Deaf Trust – Freestanding glasshouse

Project by Bridge Greenhouses

A new freestanding glasshouse was supplied and installed for the Doncaster Deaf Trust.

With their previous greenhouse being old and obsolete, Bridge Greenhouses were the ideal partner for dismantling their previous structure, delivering the necessary groundworks and installing a state-of-the-art structure that’s perfect for housing crops.

To further enhance the space, static benches were fitted within the glasshouse, providing the Trust with a practical and efficient area to cultivate a wide variety of potted plants.

Area: 102.4 m²

Industry: Education

Existing glasshouse: the existing glasshouse was old and had become unsafe to use due to glass breakages. Bridge dismantled and removed the existing glasshouse along with the removal of the existing dwarf wall & foundations.

Greenhouse Structure: freestanding glasshouse constructed with clear toughened glass throughout, accessible via an aluminium double leaf sliding door. The glasshouse had standard 3 pane, 1m deep vents system to both sides of the ridge.

Concrete floor: 100mm thick re-enforced concrete base to glasshouse with light brush finish on 100mm MOT type 1, compacted.

Benching: 4 no. static benches with galvanised steel mesh inserts, with extra wide pathways for wheelchair access.
