A Venlo greenhouse, divided into two growing areas and a corridor, was delivered and installed at the RHS Harlow Carr Garden, one of the UK’s leading gardening charities.
Meeting all project requirements, Bridge Greenhouses proved the ideal partner – providing all the groundworks, the greenhouse structure, thermal roof & side screens, heating system from an air-source heat pump, mobile & static benches, irrigation an environmental control system and more.
Area: 290.40 m²
Industry: Charity & Tourism.
Use: Plant propagation for gardens.
Groundworks: Concrete floor with power float finish throughout. Growing area’s have enveloped fall to central ACO drain.
Greenhouse Structure: Galvanized steel construction divided into 2 growing area’s and a corridor, manually operated aluminium sliding-doors
Screens: 3 no. pullwire thermal shade screen systems, vertical integrated roll screens to South elevations.
Heating: LTHW Fan coil heating fed from an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP)
Ventilation: Double rail-mech system with Continuous roof Ventilation to both sides of the ridge in the growing area’s and standard vent system to corridor.
Irrigation: Irrigation pump with break tank feeding, 3 no. hand water points.
Benching: Static & mobile benches with galvanised mesh tops. Static benches had polystyrene tops complete with electrically heated matting and thermostat per bench.
Electrics: Electrical works associated with the installed equipment complete with 2no. Bridge custom built control panels.
Computer: Tomtech T100 centralised control system c/w weather station to control ventilation, screens & heating to 3 zones.
